Rabbits are quiet in nature and are easy to take care of. For these reasons they are becoming popular pets.
Housing Rabbits and General Care
Cage:
Wired cages are preferred; the cage should be equipped with a feed hoper and watering system.
Sanitation:
Poor sanitation can cause sickness and death in rabbits. Manure should be removed as often as possible. If manure accumulates it will produce an unacceptable amount of ammonia. Household bleach can be used as a cleaning solution.
Nutrition:
Adult pet rabbits should be fed ¼ cup per 5 lb of body weight of pellet diet, in order to prevent obesity. Coprophagy (eating their own soft feces) is normal in rabbits. Rabbits receive their vitamin B and protein from their soft feces.
